KDMusic Debuts 'How Beautiful Is Your Dwelling Place (Psalm 84)'
KDMusic has unveiled their newest track, "How Beautiful Is Your Dwelling Place (Psalm 84)," now accessible on all major music streaming services.
“This song holds a deep personal meaning for me,” shares Dave, the heart behind KDMusic. “When I was just 15, I became a caregiver for my parents following a car accident that left them with serious brain injuries. Our home was no longer a place of comfort, but the church became my sanctuary—a space to laugh, sing, and enjoy the company of friends and mentors.
I often sang this song on my walk to the bus stop, feeling God's comforting presence with me. To this day, performing it brings tears of gratitude to my eyes. I hope listeners can feel that same sense of peace and joy in this version.”
This rendition of Psalm 84 pairs its timeless words with the beloved Northern Irish melody "The Homes of Donegal," a tune associated with warm, welcoming gatherings. KDMusic aimed to evoke the lively, heartfelt atmosphere of Irish seisiúns rather than a formal church setting. Rich folk instrumentation and full-bodied group vocals bring a fresh and soul-stirring vibe to the piece.
The single is part of an upcoming album featuring worship songs and hymns inspired by Scots-Irish traditions. Titled "The Grace ~ Scots-Irish Worship from Lisnabreeny Hill Fort," the collection is designed for congregational singing with melodies that linger long after the church service ends.
Dave Whitcroft of KDMusic oversees music ministry at Orangefield Presbyterian Church in Belfast. He is also active in leading worship at conferences and festivals across Ireland and the UK. His music has been featured on national radio and broadcast platforms, including BBC Northern Ireland and RTE Dublin.
KDMusic’s collaborations include talented artists such as Gillian Brown, Ian Hannah, Eliza King (Australia), and Johan Glidden (Nashville), bringing vibrant diversity to his work.
